Overnight DMZ Village Stay

Overview

Come and stay in the DMZ area on this amazing trip. See the small town that’s so close to the DMZ that they can see into North Korea from their windows. We will visit the 2nd Infiltration Tunnel, the Unification Observatory, and more! ATVing and Paintball games are all available as well.

  • Visit and explore the 2nd Infiltration Tunnel, the second tunnel found by South Koreans that the North Koreans dug into the country
  • Go to the Unification Observatory which overlooks the Iron Triangle Battlefield, which had the highest number of casualties during the war, and look into North Korea with binoculars
  • We’ll visit Woljeongri Train Station. Woljeongri is the last stop of one of the lines going into North Korea, and with the sign that says “The Iron Horse wants to run” you can see the remains of a train that used to make trips into North Korea often
  • Go to the Labor Party Building where the Labor Party was headquartered at before the Korean War broke out. When the war started and during the anticommunist movement, the people there were tortured and killed. The back of the building has human remains, metal chains, and lots of bullets there still to this day
  • Stay in a pension house that is just 6 km from the border. You’ll be able to see into North Korea from the pension house, but don’t worry, it is completely safe
  • Learn how to make rice cakes
  • Learn how to make makgeolli, Korean rice wine
  • Visit Baekmagoji Battlefield and get briefed on what happened there during the Korean war from a soldier
  • Learn how to make tofu and taste it along with makgeolli
  • Ride on ATVs on the mountainous terrain
  • Participate in a paintball game and make sure you don’t get tagged by the paintballs
  • Sit around a large campfire and make some smores while talking with everyone
  • In the winter we can watch migratory birds from a building made specifically for that
  • Walk down the frozen river during the winter and see the snowy scenery (Jan-Feb)
  • Roast some pork or chicken at the village and have a delicious meal
