1. YongPyong Resort

This is the largest resort in all of Korea and was one of the venues the 2018 Winter Olympics used! YongPyong has 28 different slopes and 14 cable lifts with a range of difficulty levels.
This includes:

g 6 beginner slopes
b 6 intermediate slopes
r 4 advanced slopes
p 6 super-advanced slopes
pp 1 extreme slope

Besides hosting the 2018 Winter Olympics, this resort also hosted FIS Alpine Ski World Cup (1998, 2000, 2003, 2006), IPC Alpine Ski World Cup for the Disabled (2006), and Winter Asian Games (1999). 

The renowned Ski resort does so much more than just snow sports though! Yongpyong also holds a heated waterpark, amusement park, skywalk, bowling and arcade area, golf course, and tons of other amenities!
And let’s not forget the famous TV shows that took place in the resort. Goblin and Winter Sonata both have well-known scenes right in Yongpyong!

2. High 1 Resort

Right up there with Yongpyong, High 1 is one of the largest Ski resorts in all of Korea! This resort was actually designed to be the most environmentally-friendly ski resort in the country. That also means High 1 has some of the best snow for skiing and snowboarding! They have 20 slopes with all different difficulty levels:

g 5 beginner slopes
b 4 intermediate slopes
r 8 advanced slopes
p 2 expert slopes
pp 1 sledding slope

High 1 has 3 different peaks to choose from! The Jijang Mountain, Valley Top, and the Mountain Hub Peak! The resort also features 18 gondolas/ski lifts 

Aside from enjoying the amazing ski courses they offer, don’t forget to check out the absolutely stunning golf course, healing house, Haneul meditation area, water world, and casino High 1 provides! This is actually the only casino both Koreans and Foreigners can participate in.

3. Muju Deogyusan Resort

The Deogyusan Resort, site of 1997 Winter Universiade, offers 22 slopes and over 4 million square meters! There are two bases to choose from (Mansun and Seolcheon base) with a diverse range of levels:

g 3 beginner slopes
b 7 intermediate slopes
r 6 advanced slopes
p 6 expert slopes

Deogyusan is actually best known for its beginner and intermediate slopes because they offer some amazing long runs! Their longest run ‘Silk Road’ goes for 6.1 km! You also get a stunning view of the Deogyusan National Park while enjoying your ski & snowboarding trip. Nature lovers in particular love this resort. 

It’s also worth mentioning that Boys Over Flowers (꽃보다남자), the famous K-drama was filmed here!

4. Phoenix Park

Only 2 hours away from Seoul, the official venue for the freestyle skiing & snowboarding events in the 2018 Winter Olympics, and the film location for Autumn in my heart + Winter Sonata is Phoenix Park!! With a total of 21 slopes, 8 lifts, and 8 gondolas, this resort has an amazing reputation:

Although the park is most famous for its freestyle hills, it has options for everyone! Phoenix also offers a sledding park with a 30-meter slope. And of course, the facilities of this resort don’t stop at just the snow area- they have a water park too. Their water park features an indoor and outdoor area, so you can enjoy it during the colder seasons!

5. Vivaldi Park Ski World

Vivaldi Park has been the most visited ski resort in Korea for seven years straight! This park is a huge attraction to one-day skiers and because of their nighttime options! It is less than an hour from Seoul and has 12 slopes and 10 lifts:

g 2 beginner slopes
b 5 intermediate slopes
r 3 advanced slopes
p 1 expert slopes

The park also features the number one water park in Korea (Number 2 in Asia)! Ocean world consists of an indoor and outdoor area, totaling 99174 meters. Outside of the ski and snowboarding area, they also have Snowy Land. This winter village is the perfect place to go sledding! The resort also has a golf club, equestrian club, arcade room, bumper cars, and a few rides! This is the perfect park for those who don’t want a long commute but still want to enjoy tons of amazing amenities.
